Precious is a 2009 American independent film established on the novel Push and as well modified from the 1996 film Push. In order to avert confusion and complementary legal struggles the name was altered from Push: Based on the Novel by Sapphire to Precious.

Being and free film it was initial shown at the Sundance Film Festival where it advanced the audience award and grand jury prize for best drama. It was announced in February 2009 that Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey would aid the film by trying to get it promotional backup through one of the greatest motion picture producers international, Lions Gate.
Due to some of the films more explicit message it was placed an "R" rating by the MPAA for scenes including that of youngster abuse, pornographic assault and pervasive terminology. The plot is established on a 16 year old heavy and illiterate Precious who lives in the New York City zone of Harlem with her weakened family. She is frequently sexually exploited by her father and has been knocked up twice by him while she gets continuous mistreat from her jobless mother.
Precious is invited to change schools and desires to attempt an alternate life. She longs to make a life where individuals care and love for her. While she is raped by her founder she looks at the ceiling and opines herself starring in a music video. Prompted by her different instructor she learns to read and write.
